ShopVue is a SQL server based system that extends Dynamics NAV
functionality to the shop floor. Operators can use bar code terminals
or touchscreens to capture labor quantity and status information in realtime
and feed Dynamics NAV.
The ShopVue Dynamics NAV interface transmits released shop
orders from Dynamics NAV to ShopVue for validation and statusing purposes,
and transmits labor transactions from ShopVue back to Dynamics NAV for job
costing and order fulfillment.
New orders and changes to existing orders are downloaded
from Dynamics NAV to ShopVue the instant they are released. As orders are
completed, the status and labor updates are uploaded back to the Dynamics NAV
output journal for posting.
ShopVue can perform many important validations that ensure
Operators do things the right way. For example, they can’t start
a job before they time in, they can’t finish a job before starting
one, and they can’t time out without finishing the last job.
