Interface Overview
The ShopVue-Dynamics NAV interface (svNAV) allows you to “front-end” your NAV system with a state-of-the-art shop floor data collection and control system for Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
The svNAV interface automatically downloads from NAV the necessary information for accurate data collection, order tracking and efficiency reporting. Soon after Operators report transactions on the shop floor, svNAV uploads information like materials consumed and direct labor charges to NAV.
Ultimately, the svNAV interface enables NAV to display your updated order status, additional actual labor, materials consumed and transfers to finished goods inventory.

Validation and Error Handling
ShopVue uses Production Order information from NAV to interactively validate each Operator entry. For example, if ShopVue knows a standard in NAV is 100 pieces per hour, ShopVue can warn an Operator if she attempts to report a quantity that is less than X percentage (user-defined) of this standard.
The svNAV interface validates these entries again when it updates the NAV Output and Consumption Journals through ShopVue-NAV connector software. In the unlikely event that an error “slips through”, svNAV returns the error to ShopVue for correction and automatic reposting.
Features
Centralized Employee Maintenance in NAV
The svNAV interface extends NAV employee maintenance screens to include Pay Group and other required ShopVue data enabling you to maintain all employee information in one place: NAV.
Multi-company Support
With the svNAV interface, you can release Production Orders from different NAV companies into the appropriate instance of ShopVue. ShopVue Operators and Supervisors don’t have to worry about “charging work to the right company”. The svNAV interface automatically applies labor and material transactions to the correct company when exported back to NAV.
Changes Only
The Changes Only feature ensures ShopVue will only download new orders and changes to existing orders, limiting network traffic and speeding download time. Seconds after planners input that new "hot job" into NAV, Operators can begin working on the job in ShopVue.
Automatic Operation
ShopVue-NAV interactions happen automatically at frequent intervals. If either system is temporarily unavailable, the svNAV interface queues transactions until a connection is reestablished.
Corrections in ShopVue with automatic Delta Logic
Supervisors can make corrections to operator transactions in one place – ShopVue. svNAV uses delta logic along with its export history to transmit the correction to NAV to keep the two systems in synch.
