Getting to Portland

Portland is served by Portland International Jetport (PWM) with daily non-stop flights to and from Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Cleveland, Orlando, and other cities. Portland is a two-hour drive from Boston and Logan International Airport and a five-hour drive from both New York City and Montreal.

Additionally, the Amtrak Downeaster provides daily rail service between Portland and Boston.

Driving Directions

From Portland International Jetport: From the airport, turn right onto Congress Street and follow for 1.8 miles. At the traffic light just before the Route 295 interchange, turn right onto US-1 Alt. North towards the train station/transportation center. Continue straight through three lights for 2.5 miles. You will see a neon sign for “Becky’s Diner” on the right followed by the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, a large gray office building. Turn right immediately after the Institute and follow the driveway down the wharf to the Maine Trade Center.

From Boston and Points South: Follow Interstate 95/Maine Turnpike to Exit 42, Route 295-North. Take Exit 4 towards Route 1-North and the Portland Waterfront. At the light, turn right onto Commercial Street/Route-1 North. Continue straight for about 1.3 miles. You will see a neon sign for “Becky’s Diner” on the right followed by the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, a large gray office building. Turn right immediately after the Institute and follow the driveway down the wharf to the Maine Trade Center.
